August, 2008

Burton flew east for a few shows and so far has had fabulous results-- he won breed and group 1st at the Elkhorn Wi   shows (judge Patricia nemirovsky di Alsina)  and then on to the huge (almost 3000 dogs) Canfield, Ohio shows where he represented  Canada and the Northwest by winning breed on Friday with an entry of 60 ( thank you judge Jay Richardson) then a big  group 2 defeating 417 working dogs - being defeated for the group only by the #1 dog all breeds in America- (Taffe Mcfadden's lovely giant schnauzer) Thank you judge Chuck Trotter!!!

July, 2008

What a great month for our dogs.  In addition to various breed wins, Burton won  the working groups in Portland Or and Elkhorn Wi. The June 2008 AKC stats were published revealing him to be the #14 working dog in the United States and the #2 rottweiler all-systems.We were very excited that his daughter Raven (dam is Ch Ter Waele Vienna) finished her Canadian Championship by going Best of Winners at the RCC BC Regional Specialty (her littermate Helo won the same award at the 2007 Specialty).

Sugar, who has not been shown since the fall last year won Best Of Opposite Sex at the BC Regional Specialty (repeating her 2006 win from the classes) and best Canadian bred in Specialty then by repeat performance won Best of Opposite Sex in Specialty for the breed at the Sagebrush Working & Herding Specialty. Sugar was breeder/owner handled to these wins by Pam Boles with co-owners Gaye & Robert Preston cheering Sugar on

Big news for Brooklyn ( Khan x Dyna )  owned by Tiffany Ferguson who picked up her first points ( 3) going WB on the BC Specialty weekend handled by Teresa Bradley of Neu Rodes.

June, 2008

What a great month for the Ravenscrest family with Burton's  son Ozzie picking up more AKC points (handled by Neu Rodes) and baby Helo finishing his Am Championship at the tender age of 16 month owner handled by Todd Johnston and winning breed over much older specials his first day as a special himself.

Our  9.5 yr old foundation male Khan wins BOTH Best Veteran in Specialty awards under breed authorities Joe Hedl and Cathy Thompson and also wins one of the coveted Awards of Merit at the CRRC Specialties where we saw Burton's daughter Cora (AKC mjr ptd can Ch Parisan's Coral Sea) wins Best of Opposite Sex in Specialty for a major over the Specials bitches from the classes.

Jada (Ravenscrest Jade v Eaglehaus) owned and trained by Rosemary Lenigan finishes her American CD in style at the Bell Vernon shows.

Burton picks up a number of group placements throughout the month and finishes the month off by winning another Best in Show - this one at Mt Vernon, Wa  at the Bell vernon KC shows ------ thank you to judges Mr Al Holabach (breed) - Canadian Mr. Doug Windsor (group) and Mr. John Connolly (Best In Show)

We hope that for June Burton remains #2 rottweiler all systems in the US and in the Top Twenty working dogs in the nation where he has been throughout the year . Newly published ARC statistics find him ranked as #1 for the month of January in that system.

March, 2008

Wow-- an amazing month for the Ravenscrest family starting off with Burton's AKC #2 ranking in recently released stats... he's also one of America's Top Twenty Working Dogs!!!

A LOT of activity for family members -- not the least of which was at the CRRC Supported entry in Oregon where Burton  won the breed and  a Group 4 over and entry of approximately 250, Kona his daughter was BOS and Helo and Raven (littremates from his breeding to Vienna) were WD/BW  and WB respectively -- at 12 months from 12-18  with Ozzie -- Burton's son by Gina (Kona's littermate) taking RWD from Open -- all under John Studebaker in an entry of 24 -- a remarkable example of consistency in judging!

It was a Special show for Kona as she and her owner Chris Dickinson also finish Kona's RN!

Kobe is notified that he becomes eligible for a coveted American Rottweiler Club Versatility award!

Ozzie -- Owned by David Bert and Christina Ullberg finishes his Canadian Championship in style handled by Teresa Bradley and Thom Woodward of NeuRodes and receives his OFA Good hip rating--in addition to all 3 other health clearances he  receives his CHIC joining littermates Kona and Cora on the OFA website -- Congratulations!

Parisans Domino of Ravenscrest co-owned by Anneliese Tschannen of Alaska takes the poinst from back- to back WB honours from the 12-18 class.

Burton wins the breed all 3 days over other AKC Top Twenty Specials in Bakersfield Ca and a Group 1 -- what a great way to end the month!

February, 2008

It was an exciting moment to be in the ring with Kobe at Westminster Kennel Club  at Madison Square Garden downtown Manhatten, New York and to see Burton bringing home an Award of Merit to Canada from judge Edd Bivin.

Some candids of Burton from the Garden...

Burton finished the month of January 2008 by ranking #2 rottweiler in both breed and all-breed statistics in the USA having defeated over 1850 working dogs including 241 rottweilers in this first month of 2008 alone!  Even more exciting is Burton's ranking as the #12 dog of all breeds in the working group in the US for the month of January 2008!!!!.

Burton's achievements are apparently singular for a Canadian bred and owned rottweiler. His achievements and those of his offspring just continue to amaze us  as with two Burton puppies ( Raven & Helo) sweeping all 3 Best Puppy in Show wins at the Renaissance Show in BC this past weekend a ( Helo handled by owner Todd Johnston and Raven handled by Michelle Yeadon)  with  a third daughter, Aurora  owned by Amanda Halayko winning points on the same weekend in Manitoba

Please enjoy these candids of Burton on the road...

Burton candids - on his way back from winning the Mile High -- waiting in airports is sooooooooooooooo boring!

January, 2008

In California (January 26 & 27). Burton takes the breed over nice specials competition and a Group 2 under judges Carolyn Alexander and Mr. MacKai respectively at the Tri Valley Pinon Working Dog Show and then breed the following day under Mr. Sangkunakup--- making that 1850  working dogs -- including over 240 rottweilers defeated --for the month of January 2008 alone !! We anticipate Burton will be a few dozen points off the lead for the US for the month of January 2008!

Burton has 2 daughters  and one son in 2 countries attaining points on the same day!. In Alaska Anneliese Tschannen's Parisans Domino of Ravenscrest (Burton x Irma) defeated the older competition for an AKC WB point and in  BC Canada,  "Raven" Parisans  Blackbird (Burton x Vienna) picked up 5 points going BW from the 9-12 class- (and also on that weekend won a Best Puppy in Group)- being the 2nd of her litter to do so. Not to be outdone, Burton's son Ozzie  (Burton x Gina) was WD to his 1/2 sister Raven to add  2 more to his CKC points

It was a fabulous weekend (January 19-21) for our team as you know with Burton defeating many of the top working dogs in the US by winning the group on Saturday at the Portland shows (3500 dogs entered  that day of the show). There were 705 dogs entered in GROUP!!!  Those dogs he defeated include several of the tops which ended 2007 as Top Ten in the working group.  Sunday Burton was Group 3 to the Akita ( #2 dog in the US for 2007) and the Dane (top dane and one of the top working dogs)  and yesterday he was group 3 to the akita ( #1 2007 working dog #2 all breeds in the US) and the giant (#6 working dog in the US 2007)

Another wonderful achievement was Burton's puppy "Helo" winning Best of Winners from the 9-12 class for a 4 point major. Helo won BW at the BC Specialty in the fall with an entry of 50 or so and we look forward to an exciting career for him as well

See you guys soon. We look forward to being "in the hunt" at Westminster and again thanks to veryone who stayed or came back for groups to support him and us- it means so much to have such great friends in the breed-- for without the dogs.. we never would have met

We were  thrilled for  Burton to be invited to Westminster ( as a result of his US Top 5 ranking)- the only Canadian- bred or owned rottweiler to be invited .  Westminster will be a family affair for the Ravenscrest gang--Burton will be attending  handled by Tony Carter. Burton's daughter Kona  will be attending and  Burton's brother Kobe if all goes well will also make the trip from West to East. Kobe will be breeder handled by Pam for Dr. and Mrs. Lenigan for this once in a lifetime opportunity

2007 News

December, 2007

What a week!!  Burton receives an Award of Excellence at the Eukanuba Invitational in Long Beach Ca and his Westminster Invitation (issued only to the Top 5 in the US) comes in the mail!

It was a great weekend in Ridgefield Washington  for Burton's last US with Burton winning both  CRRC Supported entries to defeat 100 rottweilers (hopefully securing spot  #3 in breed in the US) and his 9 month old son Helo owner handled by Todd Johnston (for co-owner Rod Ramsour and himself) to RWD both days. Judges JP Wade and Mrs. Canalizo.

Kobe was there too-- winning CRRC's High scoring rottweiler win trial with a 2nd in Open-- for his 2nd leg of his CDX with a score of 192!

For his last show of the year in Canada he wins both breed wins and judges Carl Anderson and Michelle Billings with another Group 1 st and group 2nd- under judges Walter Pinsker and Mrs Billings respectively (the latter  day being a supported entry  by the Rottweiler Club of  BC). At those same shows, Helo's littermate Avro finished his Can Ch handled exclusively by Rowan Norris-Jones-- from the puppy classes-- congratulations to Annette Knight

November, 2007

For the second time this year Burton (Multi BISS, Multi BIS Am & Can Ch Ravenscrest The Alchemist CGC TDI) has taken another Best in Specialty Show and Best in Show on the same weekend (just as he did in May)

This weekend Burton flew with handler Tony Carter to Anchorage to support the fabulous Alaska Rottweiler Club (and to see his baby daughter ----- Parisans Domino of Ravenscrest).  As usual for Alaska  there was great competition with fine people and dogs. Yesterday, Burton took the BISS honors and Domino beat the boys to win BOTH Best in Specialty Sweepstakes and Best Puppy in Specialty ( handled by owner Anneliese Tschannen) then today under judge Andre B. Schoen at breed level, John Connolly at Group level and Mrs. Schoen at BIS level, Burton won the day!

Apparently the sun was shining on that magnificent landscape all weekend. I couldn't go due to work commitments but they probably could have heard the shouts in Alaska when Tony called me to share the news of each day's events.

We are so  very excited and look forward to hearing the stories as to how Tony will make it home with all of Burton's "loot" on the plane.

This just a week after Burton's 8 month old son went Best of Winners and best Puppy at the Rottweiler Club of Canada BC Specialty over a large entry!

Although the official AKC numbers are not yet completed, we understand that Burton remains #3 in breed in the US and thereby will be receiving a coveted invitation to Westminster- still the only Canadian bred or owned rottweiler in the Top Twenty Five in the US. He remains #1 rottweiler in breed in Canada and has only been shown 2 weekends here-- with his 1/2 sister "Sugar" ( aka V-1 BOSS Am & Can Ch Ravenscrest Somelikeithot CD  RN) hot on his heels at #2 in breed in Canada

October, 2007

A big month for Burton whose standings in the US are now #4 in breed dogs defeated and #3 in all breed! We await news as to whether he will have one of the coveted Top 5 in breed Westminster Invitations after the end of October stats are released

Also exciting is the news that Burton's son Avro at 7 months won 2 puppy groups in BC and today at the Peace Arch Working & Herding Specialty at Canada's largest Dog show won the breed with an entry of 26!!

Kobe on the last weekend of October attained his coveted American TD  just passed the first leg of his American CDX  to add to his many performance titles. Kobe is '06 CRRC Sieger MBIS Multi V-1 ARC Select Am & Can Ch Ravenscrest The Talisman CI CGC RE CD TD  with a placement and score of 196. Kobe also has a couple of legs of his RAE and Khan's daughter "Jada" aka Ravenscrest Jade v Eaglehaus  finished her RE! Owner Rosemary Lenigan continues to do a fabulous job in training and handling.

Dressed by by owner/trainer Rosemary Lenigan as the Blues Brothers- Kobe & Jada provide a bit of humor at Hallowe'en  at their agility class

September, 2007

Burton defeats almost 200 rottweilers in Enumclaw Wa shows on one weekend alone and picks up a 517(!!!!) dog Group 2 under Mrs. Gomez.

Kona just having turned 2,- and received all 4 OFA & CERF health clearances-- only having been shown a grand total of 7 weekends in the US finishes her Am Ch with back to back 5 point majors-- including a Best of Winners (on the Specialty weekend) defeating  39 bitches on the first day and 57 class males and bitches combined on the 2nd day in doing so. This means Kona finished with 4(!!!!!) majors. On the same days as one of her wins, co-owner Cris Dickinson takes Kona to another successful leg of her RN with a score of 90, and Kobe ('05 ARC Select '06 CRRC Sieger, MBIS, AOM Am & Can Ch Ravenscrest The Talisman CD RE CI) with a score of 197 is awarded a CI (Carting Intermediate) title that same weekend handled by his owner Rosemary Lenigan.

Then this past weekend, Sugar, co-owned by Bob & Gaye Preston finished her Am Ch in Santa Barbara Ca. Sugar is now RCC #1 bitch (breed) BOSS USRC V-1 Am & Can Ch Ravenscrest Somelikeithot CD(Am) RN .

Finally, at the Yorkton KC Show at the ripe old age of 6 months and 5 days, Burton's daughter Aurora defeated older competition of both genders to win BW and her first 2  CKC points a huge congrats to Amanda Halayko her co-owner for handling her  part of the way

August, 2007

August has been an exciting month for us with Burton closing in on the AKC #3 spot in the US rankings and both he and Sugar taking Group 3 wins the same day in 2 different countries- the US and Canada respectively, making Sugar is now a multi-group placing bitch- in addition to being #1 bitch in breed in Canada!

Burton started off the month with 2 group 3 wins and then at the Lacey Wa shows (Aug 10 & 11) took Breed over multiple other Specials under respected (and 2008 Westminster KC breed judge) Edd Bivin. Burton topped off his Lacey Wa weekend by defeating other top US working dogs for group 2 honours under judge Jon Cole. We are very much looking forward to the fall Rottweiler Specialties.

Not to be overlooked Khan’s daughter Brooklyn (out of Dyna) passed 2 legs of her Canadian CD  trained and handled by her owner Tiffany  in BC

July 2007

This has been an exciting month so far. On July 1st we were present to watch as  Burton defeated some top American working dogs to win the working group under esteemed judge Judith Goodin in Redmond Oregon- and at the same show, Kobe finished his rally Excellent with placement and Jada passed another leg of  her RA with a placement – both handled by Rosemary Lenigan.

At the Portland Oregon shows later this month Kobe passed a leg of his RAE!! And Jada placed 2nd in her Rally Advanced class thereby finishing her RA title!

The AKC stats have been released and Burton is officially #4 all-breed rottweiler and closing in on #3 in the US- we are honoured  to be breeders and owners of the ONLY Canadian –bred Rottweiler in the US Top Twenty Five

The RCC stats are updated to May 1, 2007 and confirm that “Sugar” retains her position as #1 bitch in breed in Canada with limited showing. And we have exciting news on the breeding front&ldots; stay tuned...

We waited on tenterhooks for OFA hip and elbows results for Burton's first offspring to be evaluated Burton is  AKC #4 rottweiler ( all-breed) ,'07 RCC National BISS/ BIS Select  Am & Can  Ch Ravenscrest The Achemist HIC CGC TDI ( OFA Excellent, OFA elbows normal, CERF and OFA Cardiac) and today we received word that his daughter '06 ARC Nat'l BOSSw, Group winning, Select AKC dbl mjr ptd Can Ch Parisan's Kona of Ravenscrest HIC CGC who already had her CERF and OFA Cardiac is OFA Good and OFA elbows normal!!!   Yay for breeder Suzanne Stoops and for our co-owner Cris Dickinson who I could tell was doing a "happy dance" on the phone as I told her the news!

June 2007

A 2003 picture of Khan, Paris and a 6 month old baby Burton graces the cover of the June 2007 Canadian Kennel Club official Section magazine

It was a fabulous weekend for the Ravenscrest family-- this time in the spectacular location of the Mt. Bachelor Kennel Club shows in Redmond, (Bend) Oregon.  Big grass rings, sunshine and a view of the mountains and being surrounded by friends and "family" all made Burton's latest US Group win over some of the top US working dogs so exciting. Again there was some great success in the performance ring there with Dr. Bob & Rosemary Lenigan's "Kobe"  aka '06 CRRC Sieger MBIS Select AOM Am & Can Ch Ravenscrest The Talisman CD CS RE finishing his RE with a 3rd placement. Rosemary also received another RA qualifying score and placement on Ravenscrest Jade of Eaglehaus RN.  This spectacular setting was also the site of the introduction to the showing of another "Jada" ------at 6 months of age Parisan's Zathura of Ravenscrest was shown to perfection by owner Laura Kinne-- who had to run to the ring after winning the RE class with her older dog "Chase" -- all I can say about this wonderful show is that if you haven't been there-plan for next year

Another major for Kona! having been shown only 3 weekends in total in the US (other than ARC Nationals) Kona  now has 2 majors to her name-- this last one at the Canby Oregon shows was handled by Pam . Kona has had an amazing month with her CRRC Siegerin and Most Beautiful Female in Show titles, her Select Award at the RCC Nationals and now her 2nd major- all very exciting for co-owner Cris Dickinson and on course, for Kona's daddy "Burton

In performance news...
We are very pleased to announce that Sugar (aka 2007 RCC #1 bitch in breed, Select AKC mjr ptd BOSS V-1 Can Ch Ravenscrest Somelikeithot Am CD) followed up her  "3 up 3 down" CD with an equally impressive  performance for her AKC RN-- in classes of 15-20 in Novice B at the Gridley, California shows, Sugar showed her stuff with Teresa Bradley on the leash by earning 3 consecutive Q's and 3 consecutive placements, with scores of 97, (2nd place) 99 (3rd place) and 94 (4th place), she obtained her AKC RN!! Sugar is co-owned by Bob & Gaye Preston

CRRC Sieger show results  with William Alexander  as a judge for the show  in Oregon this weekend with an entry of 80+ :

And daddy Burton was not far away in Yakima, Wa, under the capable guidance of Tony Carter  won a group 2 under breeder judge Dr W Spediacci and  a Group 1 under noted judge Chuck Trotter in so doing defeating some remarkable US working dogs... that makes  3 group 1s , 3 group 2s a BIS and National  BISS win for Burton in the last 3 weekends  --- he has been undefeated in Breed competition in the US over 12 days of competition last month and this month in so doing defeating over 350 rottweilers in 2 countries!!!

May 2007

What a fabulous weekend for us !!  Not only did we get to spend time with some of the newer additions to the family (Amanda , Blair, Dave) and also Burton’s co-owner Jason and Bogart and Brando’s owners July and Cam  and of course Bob & Rosmeary who own Kobe  but also,  we were showing in a 4 day all-breed show with big numbers and...the 2007 Canadian National Specialty - so here are the results for our team.

SATURDAY WERE THE REGULAR CLASSES  (with an entry of 125 rottweilers)

BEST IN SPECIALTY—(now ’07 US Top Ten  BISS BIS Am & Can Ch Ravenscrest The Alchemist HIC CGC TDI) handled by Tony Carter and co-owned by Jason Ough-  BURTON WAS ALSO BEST CANADIAN BRED DOG IN SPECIALTY AND BEST BRED BY EXHIBITIOR DOG IN SPECIALTY- which are awards not restricted to those classes but rather the dogs by definition!!!

Not even the torrential downpour which never seemed to break could dampen our spirits at the Ravenscrest camp - thank you to the RCC for the event and to our puppy owners and friends who came to support and help!

And  enjoying the festivities but not shown was our newest addition – Paris littermater recently arrived from Texas  Am Ch Ironwoods Primetime RTD JHD HT HCT CD (CHIC)

Wow the AKC stats are out and Burton has climbed again in the US Top Ten. He is now #6 in both breed and all-breed for rottweilers. In  May so far he has multiple breed wins and group placements –including twice over the #1 all breed dog in the US!

We are pleased that Burton received more  US  breed wins and group placements this month to bring his total of rottweilers defeated over 125 in April alone and over 400 all-breed dogs! Meanwhile Sugar is ranked the #1 bitch in Canada (breed points, pending RCC verification).

Not to be eclipsed bythe amazing Nationals results-- we are very excited to announce that Abby--aka dbl mjr ptd Can Ch Ravenscrest Abracadabra has a new American CD thanks to handling by Teresa Bradley of Neu-rodes-- in three straight attempts- with class placements!!!!!- just like her 1/2 sister Sugar

April 2007

We are ecstatic that the US stats are out for March 2007-- Burton is climbing at #7 all-breed and #11 (by 2 dogs) in breed - Go Burton!!!

A few significant Ravenscrest brags from the weekend -------our youngest prospect “River “ is now Can Ch Ravenscrest River v Eaglehaus after a 5 point Best of Winners win over much older US competition—also Bob & Gaye Preston’s “Sugar” aka  2006 Canadian #2 bitch AKC major ptd BOSS  USRC SW regional V-1 Ravenscrest Somelikeithot  (Am)CD continued her winning ways  going BOS on all 3 days of the Renaissance weekend—to make her  total of Rottweilers defeated so far in 2007 to be  approaching 100!!!!!!!!!! with multiple Best of Breed wins over the boys. Her ½ brother “Burton” aka US Group winning 2007 US Top Ten Am & Can Ch Ravenscrest The Alchemist HIC CGC TDI took back to back group placements in the US (handled as always by Tony Carter) to defeat almost 70 rottweilers in the past 2 weekends and over 200 all-breed dogs this weekend alone

We are very excited about the achievements of these wonderful Canadian-bred dogs regardless of venue

We heard happy news from Rosemary Lenigan this weekend who tells us her Kobe (aka CRRC Sieger , Most Beautiful Male, ARC Select. AOM  Am & Can Ch Ravenscrest The Talisman CD  CS RN RA CGC HIC TDI)  passed both his 2nd and 3rd legs of his RA with scores of  95 and 97  taking a placement on one of the days. Kobe was tracking certified by the AKC a few weeks ago so I anticipate that will be his next endeavour along the way to RE.

Also Sugar aka V-1 BOSS AKC major ptd Can Ch Ravenscrest Somelikeithot CD continued her winning ways with Teresa Bradley at the helm by winning breed twice in the past week over the male Specials- very exciting indeed for new co-owners Bob & Gaye Preston. Sugar is 2 years old and just needs a 3pt major to finish in the US - having been reserve to a major a number of times -and then we will look forward to seeing what she can produce after her "retirement" at the end of this year. Sugar is an "Elvis" daughter out of our wonderful US Top Ten Kennel Review Top Producer "Paris" .

March 2007

What a great week for Sugar (aka BOSS Can Ch Ravenscrest  Somelikeithot) down in California with Teresa Bradley (Neu Rodes) on the end of the leash. Sugar attained her American CD in  3 attempts in  huge competition with 3 scores over 190 and 2 class placements—and as if that wasn’t great enough  she was rated V-1 in an very big Open bitch class under  German ADRK judge Helmut Teschke at the 2007 USRC SW Regional Sieger Show—so she is now  BOSS V-1 Am mjr ptd Can Ch Ravenscrest Somelikeithot Am CD. Sugar is co-owned by Robert & Gaye Preston. Sugar was ranked #2 bitch in breed in Canada in 2006 only having been shown for only  3 weekends here in total!  You Go Girl

Big brag(s) for the Ravenscrest family from the Seattle Wa AKC Show...

Burton aka  Am Can Ch Ravenscrest The Alchemist HIC CGC TDI  (OFA Excellent OFA Elbows normal CERF OFA Cardiac) - was BOB both days over 49 breed dogs/specials (judges Dana Cline and Jeraldeen Crandall).  He took a group 1 over 307 working dogs including a number of the top working dogs in the USA yesterday ( judge Robert Thomas) and  today took a Group 2 under Hank Williams- again over 300 dogs. Burton is owned by us and co-owner Jason Ough. He is handled by Tony Carter who loves him fiercely

February 2007

Burton and "the girls" attended the "Rose City Cluster " in Portland, Oregon and came away with more fabulous results!  As a result of his breed win there under Dr. Donald Gill - over 44 rottweilers including some stunning other specials- in addition to his success in Puyallup  the week before we are confident Burton will be listed in the US Top Ten or Twenty in Breed for the month of January, 2007.

Sugar and Kona also had successes in Portland with Sugar winning a 4 point Best of Winners major (over 39 class dogs and bitches that day)  under judge Doris Cozart with Kona placing second in  the very competitive  Open  class behind Sugar.

The next day it was Kona's turn and although Sugar also placed in that big Open class, Kona at 18 months on the weekend of her AKC all-breed debut took a 4 point major for Winners bitch under judge Donovan Thompson-- not to be outdone "River placed 1st in the 12-18 male class 3 out of the 4 days

Brando aka 2005 USRC NWRYS Ravenscrest Merlin Bando HIC CGC is the 4th puppy from the"Magic litter to attain a Therapy Dog certification!!

Brando  and owner Vancouver policeman Cam Hemphill are awaiting their assignement with "Pets and Friends" to contribute to the community

Pam (with Paris supervising in studio) were interviewed live on CBC radio to address the issues of responsible dog ownership and the dog aggression which so frequently precedes effort to introduce the ignorance of Breed Specific Legislation-- all in the wake of a coroner's inquest into a 2004 dog-bite tragedy in BC involving multiple dogs of various breeds including rottweilers

Burton will be one of a couple of Pacific Northwest dogs profiled ( complete with a photo of Burton and handler Tony Carter eating McDonald's) by the Seattle Times as they head to Westminster in New York

We have been very excited to see Joanne & Robert Thatcher's Radar ( aka BISS AOM AM  & Can Ch Ravenscrest The Navigator CGC TDI ) remaining at the #1 spot in Canada for rottweilers defeated ( together with his 1/2 sister  "Sugar"  aka BOSS AKC mjr ptd Can CH Ravenscrest Somelikeithot also in the Top  Ten even though she was only shown 2 weekends in total) but this week  Radar 's littermate "Burton" ( co-owned with Jason Ough of Kelowna BC)  was listed and is  the only Canadian bred dog (or owned) dog in the  2007 US Top Ten ( at #7 breed and #14 all-breed)  and that is quite a thrill.  All of this follows the excitement of seeing Burton in the ring at the Westminster Kennel Club show in New York --being the only Canadian bred rottweiler entered there!

We are looking forward to a very exciting year with Burton who just won back to back breeds (including under breeder judge Bob Busby) and a Group 4 in Hartford CT this past weekend before he returns to the Pacific Northwest.

We also look forward to seeing certain of Burton's puppies from a breeding to Suzanne Eikanger Stoops "Irma" in the rings later  this year - not the least of which will be our baby -----Parisan's Domino of Ravenscrest who will be making the trip to Alaska with her  co- owner Anneliese Tschannen

We are also excitedly awaiting the arrival of Burton puppies from dutch import, Multi V-1 Can.Ptd(9) /UCI-Int.Ch.Ter Waele Vienna HIC CGC CRRC Honor Roll, a co-bred litter with Parisan Rottweilers of Oregon

We are awaiting confirmation from CKC ( which should be available in February 2007) of Radar's #1 status as having defeated more rottweilers in Canada than any other dog notwithstanding the fact that he was only shown two weekends in the first 6 months of 2006 and then a week and a half in August and one weekend in September, two in October none in November and once  in December!!!!!!!!   We also  are awaiting confirmation that "Sugar" aka BOSS Can Ch Ravenscrest Somelikeithot will be #2 bitch in breed having defeated well over 100  rottweilers having been shown only 3 weekends in Canada!!!
