"We" are
Drew Schroeder and Pamela Boles. We are both practicing trial lawyers
and together with our dogs, we live in Vancouver, British Columbia on
the West Coast of Canada 1/2 an hour north of Washington State
(2 1/2 hours' drive North of Seattle).
Since I
(Pam) was very young there have always been animals in my life.
In addition to 4-H, Show horses engaged my time for many years--Futurity
winning Arabians, polo, competitive hunter/ jumper, US
National Champion Morgan Horses and most recently BC Reserve Champion
Quarter Horses. It was a natural extension for the dogs which had
always accompanied my equine pursuits to eventually enter the showring.

As a teenager, I
imported Vizslas from the top winning stock in the US--I
owner-handled one of these dogs to one of, if not the first
Best Puppy in Show Vizsla in Canadian History (Ch. Hacienda's
Cherokee Chief aka "Raider"). Raider won
numerous Best Puppy in Group wins and group placements before he
turned a year old. Then there was "Dolly" --Am &
Can Ch Hacienda's Georgia Brown-- one of only a handful of American
Champion bitches ever in Canada. Law School intervened as
did the early years of practice. Dolly went to live with MaryLois and
Peter McGuiness of Toronto who had lovely Vizslas of their own
breeding. "Raider" was my constant companion for 16 1/2
years-- until 1996. He accompanied me to class at law school and left
an indelible mark on those with whom he came into contact. He
loved our veterinarian, Dr. Terry Eisen of Kitsilano Animal Clinic
and in the last year of his life loved to spend the day visiting at
her offices lounging in the sunshine or sitting in her client chairs
greeting all those concerned patients who came through her
door--particularly the cats for whom he had a longstanding affinity.
Drew had the
"cocker spaniel while growing up" experience-- a wonderful
companion to him and his 5 sibings. His own four children Michael,
Danielle, Sam and Jamie took priority in his life for many
years and now that they have grown and are pursuing their education
and interests.
Three years after
Drew and I became a couple, he suggested that we "look at
getting a Rottweiler". He loved a female rottweiler
who visited at his beachhouse years before--little did he anticipate
the consequences of those words. After a lengthy search Khan
arrived. Paris joined us shortly afterward. |

Our home is on
approximately ½ an acre on the Westside of Vancouver close to
the beaches of the Pacific Ocean and the confluence of the Fraser
River- if that's not enough opportunity to swim for the dogs, there's
always the pool...
We don't
show every weekend--or even every month--our philosophy is
focused on enhancing our dogs' sociability, personality and
experience. When traveling, the dogs relax in style in our 37
foot rig (pictured is Rumpole by one of two fireplaces)now
thats camping!
We are indebted to
Perry Payson of Bixby, OK . Perry handled both Khan and Paris to
finish their American Championships in very fine style and with the
greatest of sportsmanship-- winning 7 majors (including the 4
point Northstar Specialty Winners Dog) along the way. We would
also like to extend our thanks to Cynthia Seeling professional
handler for all of her encouragement and exceptional expertise in
handling Paris in Canada. I would also like to thank
Michelle Pinsker-Yeadon who has handled Kona from time to time to
significant result and to Tony Carter who throughout 2007 will be
specialling Burton in the US We are honoured that every winner
at every Rottweiler specialty in BC for the last 3 years (i.e.
2005 & 2006 RCC BC Regional Specialties and the 2007
National Specialty) to win Best Canadian bred Rottweiler in
Specialty has been a Ravenscrest puppy...all from one litter!
Those dogs are Miles, Radar and Burton respectively
Pamela is
working towards her judging qualifications in both Canada and the
United States and to that end has judged at all-breed sanction
matches, junior handling competitions and Sweepstakes including the
2005 Pug Dog Club of Canada National Specialty in Winnipeg Manitoba
and the November 2005 Alaska Rottweiler Club of Specialty in
Anchorage. Most recently, Pam judged the CRRC A
match in Oregon.
We are currently
members of the RCC, ARC, MRC, CKC & CRRC.
Pam is the BC
director for the Rottweiler Club of Canada.
We are Code of
Ethics breeders.
